Utility consumption information or utility bills can be a very informative tool when conducting an energy audit. The consumption data can help you determine if the customer’s main problems are in winter, summer or year-round (baseload); or only are in specific months of the year.

Utility consumption data can be difficult to decipher, but the data tells the story of the energy consumption for each house. All we have to do is learn how to understand it. This session will show how to better analyze utility billing information and how to use this information to your advantage as a Home Performance Contractor.

In this course you will also learn:

1. How to look closely at Electric and Natural Gas bills to better understand them.
2. You will gain a better understanding of how to analyze utility bills to help homeowner’s correct for high usage.
3. Learn about different electric rate options so you can best advise customers to save money on their utility bills.
4. And you will also understand why utility bills provide the keys to energy use and the potential for energy savings in any home.
