Though you may not be able to see cracks in the box joist cavities, it is best to seal up the top and bottom of the inside of the cavity. These areas provide greater opportunities for air leakage and heat loss. This session will show you when to recommend air sealing- what materials should be used- and how sealing this area could affect pressure diagnostics. You will also learn:

1. What the Rim/band Joists of homes is and how it is built.
2. You will see why air sealing and insulating the Rim/band Joist is important when improving the performance of our homes.
4. And you will gain a better understanding of why insulating and air sealing the Rim/band joist of homes improves comfort, lowers utility bills and increases the energy efficiency of homes.
