Cantilevers are common features of many homes across the country. However, most cantilevers have large bypasses that must be insulated and sealed. These bypasses can dramatically improve the energy performance of the home. This session presents the opportunity found in most homes to correct the cantilever bypass. Included in this training are the steps necessary to properly diagnose the cantilever and the materials necessary and the installation techniques required to insulate and air seal it properly. You will learn:

1. What the Cantilever of a home is and how it is built.
2. You will see why air sealing and insulating the Cantilever is important when improving the performance of our homes.
3. You will learn the different options for air sealing and insulating the Cantilever of homes.
4. And you will gain a better understanding of why insulating and air sealing the Cantilevers of homes improves comfort, lowers utility bills and increases the energy efficiency of homes.
