SAFETY SERIES - Natural Gas and CO Safety - .25 CEU

Description
Natural and Propane gas are very common fuels used in homes throughout the country. Carbon monoxide, on the other hand, is a common but unwanted by-product of the burning of these fuels. When appliances are working properly and connections are secure, these gases can safely exit the home.

Sometimes, however, these gases are not properly leaving the home and can leak or backdraft into our living spaces, which can cause serious health hazards.

Residential contractors should be able to identify high levels of potentially harmful gases using various methods shown in this course. You will also learn:

1. Why natural gas and carbon monoxide can be hazardous to your health.
2. You will discover why combustion safety testing is so important.
3. An overview of how to test for ambient air CO and natural gas leaks.
4. And recommendations for choosing a gas monitor and basic respirator use.
